circulatory, immune, and nervous systems,

as lower back pain, arthritis, and hip dysplasia,

depression,

Does the animal have to come to your office?
Therapy sessions take place at the Easing Paw suite in Monrovia, or Annette
will come to your place for therapy.
What happens in a massage session?
The massage session includes acupressure and
specific, customized strokes for all animals of any ages, sizes and breeds. Most
pets cooperate quite well with the massage process. Occasionally an animal will
balk. Patience generally resolves this issue.
How many massage sessions will
my pet need?
The number of sessions will vary
greatly depending on your reasons for beginning massage therapy. During the
initial consultation, Annette will discuss the best likely course of treatment.
Generally:
- For General Health
If you are looking for general health benefits, it is recommended that
sessions are scheduled on a regular basis such as weekly.
- For joint pain or
stiffness
If you are looking to treat joint pain and stiffness, it is recommended that
sessions be scheduled on a regular basis at least once a week. For more
severe pain, we may recommend more than one session a week. It is normal for
your pet to experience slight stiffness immediately after a massage session,
so we need to continually monitor your pet’s reaction to massage therapy and
evaluate the number appointments as treatment progresses.
- For anxiety or depression
It is recommended that we begin with more sessions when we initially begin
treatment such as two appointments a week. As your pet begins to response to
the therapy, the number of sessions may be reduced. We generally recommend
you continue massage for your pet for general health benefits but to also
maintain treatment for anxiety and depression symptoms.
- For injury or surgical
recover
We must meet your pet to evaluate the recovery needs, but we generally
recommend at least two appointments a week for a period of four weeks. We
need to continually monitor your pet’s reaction to massage therapy and
evaluate the number appointments as treatment progresses.
